The Blandy’s 10 Year Old Bual is a carefully crafted, medium-rich Madeira wine made from the unique Bual grape variety that’s exclusive to the Madeira archipelago. The wine is aged in seasoned American oak casks using the traditional ‘Canteiro’ method, where the wines are gradually transferred from the higher floors with greater temperatures, to the ground floor with a lower temperature, allowing the wines to develop their distinctive, layered character.

The light amber-hued Madeira reveals a bouquet of dried fruits alongside notes of almonds and oak as well as subtle hints of toffee and vanilla. The sumptuous palate offers a rich tapestry of flavours including fig, caramel, toasted nuts, coffee and dried fruits balanced with vibrant, zesty acidity and a long persistent finish. The smooth, refreshing and versatile expression can be enjoyed as an aperitif, paired with a variety of foods or savoured as an after-dinner wine. It brings natural sweetness, balanced structure and great complexity to any meal or occasion and is a unique and interesting expression of Madeira’s rich winemaking heritage.

Blandy’s has a history dating back to 1811 and is one of the oldest family-owned producers of Madeira, perfecting and preserving the unique winemaking traditions of the island. Renowned for producing a diverse range of Madeira wines from Sercial to Malmsey, Blandy’s combines traditional techniques with a modern approach to innovation and quality. They offer wines that appeal to both seasoned connoisseurs and those new to world fortified wines, making Madeira’s timeless appeal accessible to all.
