Yama Yuzu Liqueur 720ml
Tsukasa Botan Brewery has combined exquisite Junmai sake with lots of mountain yuzu and a little sugar to create our top tip for the ultimate spritz this summer.
Yuzu is a sweet-sour citrus fruit that looks a bit like a knobbly grapefruit, and the ones used in this liqueur are sourced from Tosa Reihoku, famed for its tangy mountain yuzu. Zingy, semi-sweet and weighing in at a summer-friendly 8% ABV, Yama Yuzu Liqueur buzzes with lemon, lime, grapefruit, yuzu, energy and crisp acidity. It’s extremely refreshing, especially when sipped on the rocks as an aperitif; mixed into zesty cocktails; or topped with soda, premium tonic water or sparkling wine to create a citrusy spritz. We love to pair this vegan-friendly liqueur with a fish or palm heart ceviche, lemon-doused souvlaki, lemongrass and coconut curries, tagines with preserved lemons or citrus-based desserts, such as lemon meringue pie or lemon posset.
Nestled in the mountains of Kochi prefecture, Tsukasa Botan Shuzo was named after a prized peony and can trace its history back to 1603, making it the oldest brewery in the region. As you would expect from a producer located so close to the coast, its sakes and liqueurs all pair particularly well with seafood.
