92 points “Dried peach skin with lemon and crushed stone or cement on the nose. It’s full-to medium-bodied. Lovely soft texture and richness and a fresh finish with lots of dried fruit. A little richer than usual.” – James Suckling
Famed for his ability to select the finest fruit the bespectacled Bruno Giacosa – a.k.a. the “Genius of Neive” – was a sad loss to the fine wine world when he passed away in January 2018 making wines like this even more sought-after. But as Decanter Magazine puts it “his style and standards are being maintained by his daughter Bruna.”
Arneis is a white grape indigenous to Piedmont that creates exceptional wines on the sandy hillsides of Roero. Bruno Giacosa’s version displays intense notes of lemon zest pineapple peach apricot green apple wildflowers and crunch along a pebble beach. It’s a fine match for white truffle pasta primavera pea and asparagus risotto or squash blossom tacos.
