For too long this region just outside of Rome has been known for producing fresh simple and gulpable holiday vino. However the Santarelli family has transformed that reputation with its serious elegant and distinctive wines which speak of their outstanding volcanic terroir.
Castel de Paolis Frascati Superiore is crafted from 70% Malvasia del Lazio 20% Trebbiano Giallo 5% Bellone and 5% Bombino Bianco. These grapes flourish on the volcanic soils south of Rome creating a wine that sings of juicy exotic fruit wildflower meadows crunchy green apple crisp pear beach pebbles and a savoury smoky note that reminds us of fresh herbs on the barbeque. We’re going to be sipping this vegan-friendly white all summer long and beyond.
