Studio Rosé is an exciting release from Château Miraval – Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's iconic French estate which the then-couple took over in 2008.
Made by the Perrins – one of France’s foremost winemaking families - Studio Rosé is an equal blend of Cinsault Grenache Rolle (Vermentino) and Tibouren (a herby and aromatic local variety) grapes that are harvested along the French Riviera. These grapes which are some of the finest to be found between the Rhône and Monaco are fermented to music in egg-shaped concrete vats. This shape and maybe also the tunes keeps the yeast moving around which adds richness and texture to the wine. What is then filled into the bottles is pure Riviera chic; apricot sorbet crunchy peach jasmine lime blossom watermelon redcurrant pink grapefruit and herbes de Provence. Hollywood film studio or studio apartment Studio Rosé can be served anytime anywhere.
Although famous for the ‘Brangelina’ connection there’s much more to Château Miraval than just that. Adam Lechmere a writer who has contributed to Decanter World of Fine Wine Wine Enthusiast and many other publications says: “Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bought their Provençal estate in 2008 and promptly formed a partnership with the Perrin wine family of Beaucastel. Pitt himself gets very involved at every stage of the winemaking.”
“Whatever his input the wine is delicious ” remarks Lechmere. It’s the all-important note of the expertise of the legendary Perrin family that will pique the interest of true aficionados. As one of the critics of the highly respected wine website Vinous puts it: “Put aside the celebrity cachet of this wine and judge it for what it is: an outstanding classically built Provençal rosé that happens to be made by the highly esteemed Perrin family of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's Château de Beaucastel.”
