Château Rieussec has been owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild since 1985. So one could consider this the Château Lafite Rothschild of dry white Bordeaux. Ranked as a Premier Grand Cru in 1855 in top years Rieussec’s Sauternes can rival those of the legendary Château d'Yquem. But just like their prestigious neighbour they make a fabulous and rare dry white that slips under-the-radar due to all eyes being on the sweet wine.
R de Rieussec comes from the same vines used to make the Sauternes. 20% of the Sémillon and Sauvignon are fermented in barrels adding a little cream and spice to the crisp apple and pear flavours tangy yuzu honey beeswax mango pineapple hay sea salt and white pepper.
