Hedonism is produced by Compass Box – a specialist Scotch whisky blender that uses component parts to create blends of exceptional balance, quality and appeal. Along with tasting utterly delicious, each release visually communicates the message of taste in a unique manner and makes great Scotch whisky more approachable and relevant to modern drinkers. The blends are created using the best distillates from the best distilleries, aged in the highest quality oak casks. With these building blocks, Compass Box create whiskies with richness, balance and purity of flavour.
Compass Box have been making Hedonism for quite a while now, but as time has gone on it has become harder and harder to find the component whiskies of the quality needed to make it. This has meant that they have now had to move to making Hedonism an annual release, with 2024 marking the first of these new editions. This inaugural release is a celebration of female artists, an ode to the original Hedonism being the first whisky to feature a female on the artwork.
For this release they have gone for more mature whiskies aged primarily in first-fill Bourbon barrels, as well as their last stocks of grain whiskies distilled in the 90's when some of the distilleries still utilised maize in their mashes. This means that this could be the richest and butteriest Hedonism to date!
