The Blanco picked up a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020 and also scooped Best Blanco at the World Tequila Awards 2019. A bright and unaged Tequila it tastes like pineapple sorbet crunchy pears and apples roasted jalapeño chillies white pepper cream spices clementine peel and a little iodine almost as if the glass were rinsed with Islay whisky before pouring the Blanco in. Sip this creamy Tequila neat preferably alongside a taco topped with coriander or anything made with tomatillos. Alternatively it makes a stunning Margarita or Paloma.
Corazón Tequilas are crafted at Casa San Matias a family-owned distillery in Jalisco with a 130-year-long history. Each one is a single estate Tequila created by hand using 100% Blue Weber agave and an old family recipe. Corazón means ‘heart’ in Spanish and refers to the piña of the agave plant but also the passion and enthusiasm that Carmen Villarreal and her team put into every bottle. One thing that really sets Casa San Matias apart in a such a male-dominated industry is its inclusive culture – it has been granted Gender Equity Model certification by Mexico’s National Women’s Institute.
