Finca Decero’s The Owl & The Dust Devil wines are inspired by two natural wonders found in the Remolinos Vineyard, located at 1,050m above sea level in Luján de Cuyo. The first is the Lechuza owls who perch atop the vineyard posts while they hunt for pests that might eat the grapes. The second are the little whirlwinds that spin around the vineyards, causing the owls to take flight. These dust devils aid airflow through the vines, keeping them cool and dry during the summer and preventing frosts from settling in the cooler months. The interplay between these two natural phenomena allows Finca Decero to create silky and magical wines high up in the mountains, where the cool temperatures cause slow ripening and the strong ultraviolet promotes thick skins and lots of intense colour in the grapes.
