Richard and Stéphane Martin took over the family business at Domaine de La Croix Senaillet from their father in 1992. They started organically farming their patchwork of plots in Davayé Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé in 2003. Slowly but surely together they’ve ramped up the quality and grown the business from 6.5 hectares to 25 hectares and are now considered one of the most important producers of Saint-Véran.
The critics are raving the 2017s from this part of the world. It’s “a delicious vintage for white Burgundy” according to respected critic Jasper Morris. Allen Meadows agrees saying that “the 2017s deserve a place in your cellars” and Neal Martin calls it a “modern classic vintage” with some “quite brilliant whites”. What made it so special was the freshness of the wines.
