Representing the world's first single-island rum from the Philippines Don Papa Rum has developed a cult following since bursting on to the UK rum scene. The name Don Papa was inspired by Papa Isio one of the leading figures of the Philippine revolution on the island of Negros. Since its launch in the Philippines – the second largest rum market in the world – Don Papa has won many awards for the liquid and its unique distinctive packaging.
Produced in small batches and distilled from some of the finest sugar cane in the world Don Papa is first aged for 7 years in oak barrels in the foothills of Mount Kanlaon before being blended to perfection. Light and fruity on the nose Don Papa displays aromas of cinnamon Seville orange and vanilla. The palate is smooth and delicate with a touch of sweetness and flavours of vanilla honey and fruit cake. A delicious rum to sip on its own over ice Don Papa also works well in a range of rum based classic and contemporary cocktails.
