But redemption has arrived because the “Father of Bourbon” has replaced it with the Small Batch – a blend of 200 barrels aged between eight and twelve years. Either way this is truly wonderful stuff rich with red apples baked with cinnamon nutmeg marzipan and Demerara sugar. As you sip it it evolves presenting honey nut cornflakes smoke cookie dough ice cream cherry drops mint wildflowers and dry oak. Extremely sophisticated and a worthy replacement to the 12 Year Old.
