Cascina Sciulun Langhe Nebbiolo comes from the steep vineyards of Monforte d’Alba Novello and Madonna di Como. It was matured in Slavonian oak barrels for between eight and twelve months layering a wonderful complexity that reminds us of antique leather-topped desks over the fresh raspberry and sour cherry. The richness and those glorious tannins are screaming out for red meat mature cheese roasted aubergine bean stews and nut-based sauces.
In the hamlet of Bussia di Monforte d’Alba you’ll discover Cascina Sciulun – a historic Piedmont farmhouse and home to the Conterno family. Pietro Conterno planted their first Nebbiolo before passing the business to Giacomo who in turn handed it on to Franco and his two sons Daniele and Andrea. The vegan-friendly wines that they create which have been certified organic since 2015 are world-class reflections of the area’s exceptional terroir.
