Glenfarclas is one of Scotland’s most celebrated distilleries and is fiercely independent. That’s what comes of being founded in 1836 and remaining a family-run business to this day. They boast an enviable collection of old Scotch spread across their 30 warehouses and tend to steer clear of exotic wood maturation. This makes them a go-to for those who like their Scotch to be made in a smooth heavily sherried style and have a nice bit of age on it.
Glenfarclas 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is matured in Sherry casks and bottled at a slightly more punchy 46%. For us this is classic Glenfarclas with that rich amber colour signature smooth mouthfeel and big Sherry flavours. Somehow it seems much older than it is making it great value for money. The nice folks at the International Spirits Challenge seem to agree as they awarded it a Gold Medal in 2019.

Rich and full-bodied on the palate with sweet spices of clove nutmeg and Christmas cake balanced by a malty depth buttered toast Medjool date walnut baklava and that long lingering finish. This is a superb whisky whether you are a seasoned drinker or someone looking for something a bit more special.
