A historic and highly regarded Champagne house Gosset is one of Champagne’s most recognisable and cherished names. Gosset Celebris – a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend from 8 Grand Cru villages – represents the producer's prestige cuvée and most famous release. Only produced in the very best vintages Celebris is made in an "Extra Brut" style which means very little sugar (or "dosage") is added. Complex and elegant the nose delivers floral aromas such as hawthorn lilac and violet as well as fruity aromas of apricot apple and fresh pineapple. After the wine has warmed a little discreet notes of coffee appear. Harmonious and fresh in the mouth on the first sip notes of yellow fruits pineapple apricot and Mirabelle plum are revealed followed by white flowers hawthorn lilac and jasmine. Beautifully crisp and focussed the finish is marked by purity freshness and excellent length. Ideal as an apéritif this is also a versatile food partner and pairs well with free-range poultry game birds or fish. A wonderful Champagne from a stellar vintage Celebris 2002 will drink wonderfully over the next 10 years and beyond.
