Described as a "tropical dependent bottler”, The Papalin Project is passionate about the art of blending. Each rum is sourced from different distilleries from one island to create this unique and complex, multi-layered rum.
Inspired by the history of rum and the Jamaican traders of the late 1800s who began to make blends by mixing rums from different distilleries, Velier works directly with the different distilleries on sourcing and ageing.
Papalin Haiti 4 Year Old is the third release from Velier's The Papalin Project, and due to it's super-rare exclusivity, purchases are limited to one per customer. It's blended with Clairin rums from Sajous, Vaval, Casimir and Le Rocher, as well as cane syrup rums from Distillerie de Port-au-Prince. All of which have been aged for a minimum of four years in a variety of ex-Caroni, ex-Cognac and ex-bourbon casks. Enjoyed alone, Papalin Haiti released notes of warm cane, pineapple, tobacco and fragrant spices that celebrate and showcases the spirit of Haiti.
