The name ‘Kah’ means ‘life’ in the ancient Mayan language and contrary to what the scary skull bottles might suggest these Tequilas are full of life.

Kah’s skull-shaped bottles are obviously inspired by the traditional sugar skulls called calaveras used during Día de Muertos to celebrate life and remember the dead. But each expression crosses borders to explore traditions in other countries in Central and South America. This unique gift pack contains 50ml bottles of Kah’s three expressions: Blanco Reposado and Añejo. A novel and unique present idea for Tequila fans which is available only in limited quantities.

Contains:

  • Kah Day of the Dead Blanco Tequila Miniature 50ml: An intense spirit with notes of cooked agave garden herbs almond pesto sweet citrus and fiery pepper. It’s silky and delicate leaving a sachet of spices on the palate. The Blanco bottle is designed with white and black motifs to represent the practices of Bolivians some of whom keep the skulls of loved ones and bring them out each year on the 8th of November taking them to the cemetery and feeding them their favourite foods and in some cases even cigarettes and spirits. Keeping and entertaining the skulls of their deceased is seen as a way for the dead to be immortalised but also protect the living by warding off evil spirits.
  • Kah Day of the Dead Reposado Tequila Miniature 50ml: An ultra-smooth but incredibly powerful spirit. Full-bodied agave and roasted pepper flavours dance with the vanilla and caramel notes imparted by the 10 months spent ‘resting’ in French Limousin oak casks. The yellow Reposado bottle is designed with red devil motifs to represent the practices of Peruvians some of whom celebrate with a festival the week before the 5th of November on the banks of Lake Titicaca. Traditional dances (complete with dangling upturned crucifixes) are rumoured to be led by the “El Diablo” himself. This region of Peru is mostly a mining area and workers spend much time underground. According to ancient Incan beliefs Satan lives underground making the miners vulnerable to his powers due to their daily proximity. The festival is designed to honour Satan thus keeping the workers safe. They even pour spirits on the ground for the devil to drink.
  • Kah Day of the Dead Añejo Tequila Miniature 50ml: A riot of roasted agave coffee chocolate and tobacco flavours masterfully created during its two-year aging time in American oak casks. The Añejo bottle is designed with black and white motifs to represent the practices of Nicaraguans some of whom take “rest in peace” to a whole new level. While they perform similar traditions to other Latin American counterparts (i.e. decorate graves bring food to alters to honour the dead) they also often sleep at the grave sites of their deceased. The idea is that by sleeping with the dead Nicaraguans reinforce the emotional connection they hold with those loved ones that have passed.
