Hailing from what Jancis Robinson has called “a magnificent vintage for Champagne” Louis Roederer’s Cristal Rosé 2002 has stunned the critics and was crowned ‘Supreme World Champion’ at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships…

  • 100 points “The 2002 Cristal Rosé has always been suspected to become a legend one day. Now nine years later the onion-coloured wine has arrived in the Olympus of the finest Champagnes.” – Wine Advocate
  • 19 points “This is already amazingly rich and long. Great density and breadth.  I can see how this wine triumphed over all the other 650 entries in the first Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships.” – Jancis Robinson

Established in 1776 Louis Roederer is one of the few remaining independent family-owned Champagne houses. By 1876 the House had achieved such a reputation for quality that the second Louis Roederer was asked by Tsar Alexander II to create a new Champagne Cristal for the exclusive use of the Russian Tsars. The Rosé was first launched almost 200 years later in 1974 and has been adored ever since. Made from four of Louis Roederer’s finest Grand Cru plots in Aÿ Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger it’s a blend of approximately 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. It has spent eight years on the less and the result is nothing short of miraculous: voluptuous mouthfeel a combination of finesse and opulence then refreshing salinity and warming spice as if seasoned with salt and pepper. Simply a Champagne that everyone should try once in their lifetime.
