Midleton Very Rare whiskeys have always had a close and personal association with the Master Distiller, whose signature adorns every bottle ever released. Its creator, Barry Crockett, is a true Irish Whiskey legend, and his father, Max Crockett, led the way as Master Distiller before him. Barry was born and grew up in the Master Distiller’s House on the Midleton Distillery grounds. This deep history and heritage are among the many reasons Midleton Very Rare is seen as the original prestige whiskey of Ireland.The individual nature of the selection process means that each year’s vintage provides its own character.
This one opens with rich velvety chocolate, followed by aromas of apple crumble and fudge, and leading to notes of peach and apricot combined with decadent honeycomb, vanilla and crème brûlée. The lasting finish sees the fruits and American oak continue to linger until the end. This special vintage release is a true landmark in Midleton’s portfolio and has been crafted with care by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman and his team.
