Produced by two of the world’s most famous fortified wine producers Navazos Niepoort Vino Blanco is a white unfortified wine made by sherry legend Equipo Navazos and Port iconoclast Dirk Niepoort. A traditional and forgotten about style of wine this is made from the main Sherry grape Palomino. It was fermented in American oak butts and aged for approximately nine months under the naturally occurring yeast before being bottled without fortification. Bright pale gold in colour this unique and unusual wine displays a nose full of ripe apples pear bread dough nuts and honeycomb. On the palate this wine is rich and savoury with more apple plus notes of toasted bread and salt. A very interesting and different wine with a striking similarity to Fino Sherry this gastronomic release would pair perfectly with oysters.
