Penfolds has launched a new range of wines in partnership with Human Made founder, NIGO, to celebrate the idea of “oneness”. One by Penfolds celebrates what makes us all different and unique, but also the things that bring us together. The collection comes from the three different regions where Penfolds wine is sourced around the world – USA, France and Australia – and these bottles each have their own distinctive animal motif on the label, so they are instantly recognisable. The personality of the wine is unmistakably Penfolds with each of them focusing on medium bodied, vibrant and aromatic characteristics.
One by Penfolds Shiraz offers a savoury and aromatic nose with notes of cured meat, roasted pepper and olive alongside fragrant spices of black cardamom, turmeric and smoked paprika. Sweet cola and liquorice burst onto the scene before developing boldly into a thrilling core of sweet dark fruit, black fig, black cherry and summer berry pudding. A gentle suggestion of vanilla brings aromatic sweetness before hints of bitter chinotto provide a well needed balance. Structured tannins with a long richly textured finish round off this glorious Shiraz. With its big and bold structure this wine is the perfect accompaniment to steak and chips, rich meaty ragu or a fragrant coq au vin.
