Y by Yoshiki x Champagne Pommery Brut embodies the collaboration between Masion Pommery and Yoshiki, the renowned musician and global icon. Inspired by the shared values of creativity, innovation and excellence, this unique partnership celebrates the fusion of artistry and craftsmanship in the world of Champagne.
The Y Champagne reflects the vision and passion of both collaborators, marrying the finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes with Yoshiki’s distinctive artistic flair. Harmony and elegance are showcased in each golden-hued sip and the vibrant aromas of crisp apple, ripe pear, and citrus zest alongside hints of flora and subtle minerality dance gracefully on the nose inviting you to indulge in its radiant allure. A symphony of flavours delights the tongue with layers of orchard fruits intermingling with roasted almonds and rich notes of brioche, and the refreshing acidity results in a complex structure and well-balanced wine. The long and satisfying finish leaves a lingering impression of sophistication and refinement urging you to delve back in for more. This striking bottle invites any wine enthusiast to experience a new dimension of Champagne – one where tradition meets innovation, and every moment is infused with the spirit of creativity and celebration.
Yoshiki is known as a composer, producer and rocker drummer worldwide, but is also a successful producer of Y by Yoshiki, a line of Napa Valley wines in collaboration with Robert Mondavi Jr, which are among the bestselling premium Californian wines in Japan. Since 2019, Yoshiki and Pommery have been developing the new Champagne brand and Y by Yoshiki x Champagne Pommery Brut is the first Champagne in this partnership.
Originally established as a wool trading company called Pommery & Greno in 1858, this business took a dramatic change of direction when its founder Alexandre Louis Pommery died, and his widow Louise took over. Now, Pommery is one of the biggest names in Champagne, and it deserves a special place in the region’s history as Madame Pommery created the first Brut Champagne in 1874. This ground-breaking wine changed the prevailing preference for sweeter Champagne and would go on to become the world’s most popular style. The avant-garde Champagne house, with its turrets, towers, crenelations, red bricks and blue façade, is every bit as bright and striking as the wines produced within its walls. Madame Pommery described her refined wines with two words: joy and lightness. So, when you want to spread a little joie de vivre, reach for a bottle of Pommery Champagne.
