Dizang Gin is the new autumnal release from the Psychopomp Micro-Distillery and is named after one of the four principal bodhisattvas in east Asian Buddhism.  This exceptional gin has been designed to warm the cockles and sail you through the cold, winter months and we think it would be great in a classic Gin & Tonic or used to fire up and invigorate another of your favourite tipples.

Crafted with the traditional botanical line up of juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, cassia bark and citrus zest, the tantalising additions of apricots, sage and saffron create depth and complexity to enhance that fruity and savoury combination, making this a stunning example of an Autumn Winter gin.

Psychopomp is a tiny micro-distillery in Bristol. It evolved out of the experimentation between two friends Liam and Danny. They began building stills and tinkering with recipes in Liam’s basement before moving to 145 St Michael’s Hill. As you walk up this steep hill from town maybe stop for a pint in a pub that the forward-thinking locals changed the name of due to its links to the slave trader Edward Colston (it was rather amusingly called “Ye Olde Pubby McDrunkface” in the interim if we remember correctly) or pick up some flapjack from Parsons Bakery to fuel your ascent. Once at the top you’ll see an old shop with a charming sign reading “A. Jenkins Groceries Provisions” and that’s the home of Psychopomp. These lovely folk believe that delicious beverages shouldn’t come at a cost to the planet so they’re certified carbon neutral and look to lower their impact on the environment wherever possible. Finally just in case you were wondering a ‘psychopomp’ is a spirit that guides souls to the afterlife. So let this distillery take your taste buds on a spiritual journey to heaven.
