This exquisite rum is made by Varela Hermanos a company whose history can be traced back to 1908 when a Spanish immigrant built a sugar mill in the village of Pesé Panama. Varela Hermanos is also socially and environmentally conscious; it has built a vocational institute to teach welding sewing computing and electrician skills to locals and they harvest manually to reduce carbon emissions convert fibrous waste sugar cane into biofuel and bottle in recycled glass.
