Initially produced in 1953 for the Queen’s Coronation, Royal Salute has firmly established itself as one of the greatest Scotch Whisky Blends available. Uniquely presented in coloured ceramic decanters, the first of which was green and made by Royal Doulton, the whisky is composed of an exceptional range of casks laid down over the years by the Chivas Brothers. The brand was named Royal Salute in reference to the established tradition of firing cannons as a sign of respect or welcome to sovereigns and dignitaries: the 21-Gun Royal Salute.
This is a rare and limited-edition Royal Salute 21 Year Old that was filled into a red porcelain flagon. The rich liquid within boasts notes of fresh pear, autumn leaves, summer flowers, Seville orange marmalade, Sherry-soaked dried fruit, hazelnut praline and the lingering smoke of a recently fired cannon. A dram for whisky enthusiasts that comes out with all guns blazing.
