Silent Pool is gin royalty so it was only fitting that they created a limited-edition to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
It’s hard to stay silent about any new release from Silent Pool they just demand to be shouted about from the rooftops. Their Platinum Celebration Gin features a one-time-only change from their iconic copper patterned bottle to a dazzling platinum. They’ve also added a platinum neck collar marking Queen Elizabeth II’s momentous 70-year reign.
But it’s not just the bottle that has received a makeover. So has the botanical recipe. It still carries Silent Pool’s much-loved DNA but the recipe has been refined to highlight the following key botanicals: juniper peach oolong tea rose bay leaf wild forest pepper (a citrusy relative of Sichuan pepper) Timur berry (a grapefruit-flavoured Nepalese pepper) and dried lemon peel. The creamy richness of the peach is perfectly balanced by the bright citrus zing of the pepper then those delicate notes of rose petal and herbal tea come through. It feels like the perfect gin to serve with afternoon tea. But if that all feels a bit cheeky then try combining with an elderflower tonic and garnishing with a slice of peach.
