This stunning, limited-edition original wooden case houses six bottles of three exceptional vintages from the Château Clarke estate, in Listrac Medoc, Bordeaux:

  • 2 x Château Clarke 2005, 750ml
  • 2 x Château Clarke 2010, 750ml
  • 2 x Château Clarke 2015, 750ml

These three wines are all drinking superbly now and offer a journey through the evolution of Château Clarke for anyone who manages to get their hands on a box.

Robert Parker writes that Château Clarke 2005 Cru Bourgeois is “the finest vintage for these wines since 1982”.

James Suckling gives 93 points to the 2010 vintage and comments that it has an “extreme nose of crushed raspberries and minerals. Full body, with very integrated tannins and a fresh clean finish. Lasts for minutes. Very well done.”

Neil Martin heralds the 2015 vintage with 90-92 points and comments that “The 2015 Clarke has an attractive blackberry and briary scented nose with just a hint of dark chocolate emanating from the new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, the acidity nicely judged with nice tension on the cedar and tobacco-tinged finish. I appreciate the freshness and refinement demonstrated by this Château Clarke.”

The origins of the Château Clarke estate date back to the 12th century when the Cistercian monks of the Vertheuil Abbey planted the first vines. In 1818 the knight, Tobie Clarke, purchased the land, which continues to bear his name to this day. In 1973, Baron Edmond de Rothschild bought the property, then restored and redesigned the vineyard, resulting in a fully modernised wine producing and winemaking establishment where the clay-limestone hilltops enable the Merlot vines to express their captivating character. With the first wine bottled in 1978 the quality of Château Clarke has continued to progress and develop which is a testament to the rigorous controls on the method of cultivation and wine production.
