The history of this famous Champagne house dates back to 1772 when Philippe Clicquot founded a wine-making business under the name Clicquot. In 1810 this was renamed Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin after the young widow Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin inherited the estate. Ever in pursuit of excellence and innovation Madame Clicquot used her skills to develop an exceptional wine-growing territory and went on to establish what is today one of the most iconic names in Champagne.
Veuve Clicquot's signature style is a fine and elegant balance between freshness and complexity. The nose is reminiscent of white fruits and raisins evolving into vanilla and brioche. On the palate the wine is powerful well-structured and admirably vinous. Yellow Label is perfect served on its own but can complement lightly cooked seafood fish tartare duck or croissants.
