Nestled in the hills of Piemonte Distilleria Santa Vittoria was opened in 2018. And its very first gin Villa Ascenti has already been awarded a five-star exceptional rating from the Difford’s Guide for Discerning Drinkers 2020. Packed with provenance Villa Ascenti Gin was distilled on a refurbished Frilli copper pot still from the 1970s by Master Distiller Lorenzo Rosso. Lorenzo works hard with local farmers to create a truly homegrown gin using botanicals such as Moscato grapes Tuscan juniper mint and thyme.
When you pour Villa Ascenti you’ll discover a vibrant and fruity gin with a touch of sweetness from the wine grapes. But what we love most about it is its care-free and summery character combined with the freshness of a leafy dew-drenched garden. The minty note will make it a fine choice for Pimm’s the piney juniper excels in a gin and tonic and the woody herbs and spices come alive in a Martini. But we’re still off to make ourselves a Negroni. Ciao.
