Vincent Girardin was born in Santenay and is the eleventh generation of his family to make wine in the region, so he knows a thing or two about creating great Burgundy.
Offering great value for money, the Vincent Girardin Meursault Les Vieilles Vignes is created using a blend of plots sourced from around the village of Meursault. Hailing from biodynamic plots of 50-year-old vines, the Chardonnay grapes are all harvested by hand and sorted both in the vineyard and then again at the winery. The wine is then stored in 500 litre French oak casks (10% of which are new) for both the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, then aged on the fine lees lasts 15 months.
Beautifully balanced and very seductive, this elegant white offers a delicious combination of roasted almond and hazelnut with floral and mineral notes alongside butter, honey and citrus fruits.
