The peak of Ben Nevis stands at 1,345m above sea level. The vineyard that this Malbec comes from is 355m higher than that. So, this is some next-level extreme winemaking.
Estancia San Pablo is the highest vineyard in Argentina’s Uco Valley, and that’s where Sebastián Zuccardi and Walter Scibilia make ‘Un Lugar de los Andes’. Exposed to snow, cold winds and strong ultraviolet, the Malbec vines here create dazzling and immensely complex fruit. The freshness and balance are simply out of this world, as you might expect from such a high-altitude wine.
Sadly, only 300 bottles were made of Un Lugar de los Andes Malbec 2018 and we could secure just six of those. So, the handful of bottles available here on our website represent an intriguing and probably fleeting opportunity to taste one of the world’s most exciting wines.
