This is the inaugural release of Zuccardi’s first ever Single Vineyard Chardonnay and, oh, what a chardonnay it is. Grown in Las Cuchillas Vineyard just 600 metres away from the mountain front, the high altitude, cool climate, and distinct characteristics of this vineyard contribute to the development of this grape with exceptional flavour and complexity.

2021 was a great vintage and with a cool and humid climate, the bunches had the necessary time to reach maturity with a perfect balance of sugar and acidity with a great tannin structure.

Zuccardi Valle De Uco was named New World Winery of the Year 2022, an award given to the most outstanding winemaking establishment located outside of the United States and the Old World. On top of this in the same year, Zuccardi became the first winery from Argentina to have three wines awarded 100 points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate, in addition to a perfect score from Tim Atkin.

Over three generations, the Zuccardi family has become one of the most prominent wine families in Argentina. The winery in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, is a glowing symbol of how far this Argentine wine family has come since its foundation in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi. Today it is focused on making precise, terroir-driven wines with a particular focus on Malbec but a diverse portfolio ranging from Bonarda to Sémillon. Grandson Sebastian Zuccardi helms this enterprising winemaking label, and on his initiative the winery created a special Research and Development Wing, in 2008, to learn and analyse more about the terroirs and the diverse variables that affect wine quality. The goal in Sebastián’s own words is “not to strive for perfect wines, but wines that express the place, the region”.
