Harvey Nichols has seven stores within the UK and Ireland, consisting of five large-format stores in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester, and two small-format stores in Bristol and Dublin. A beauty concept store, Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols, opened in Liverpool in November 2012.

All UK stores have luxury Foodmarkets and Restaurants, Cafés or Brasseries. Harvey Nichols also owns and operates OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie on the South Bank in London.

In addition to this, there are six large-format stores overseas: one in Riyadh, one in Dubai, two in Hong Kong, one in Doha Festival City and one in Kuwait.

Manju Malhotra - Chief Operating Officer

Manju Malhotra has had a progressive 22-year career with Harvey Nichols, and she has led the business as COO since 2018. Prior to that, she was the CFO. During her time with the brand, she has been at the heart of commercial performance and technology. Having re-defined the business strategy, she has delivered record financial performance over the past two years and has also driven an omni-channel customer experience. Her track record working with commercial organisations has created exclusive customer programmes and an enviable stable of partners.

Having put sustainability at the heart of Harvey Nichols’ approach she has driven the agenda with partners, suppliers and stakeholders. Manju dedicates her personal time to supporting charities on poverty in the capital and providing mentoring support to under-privileged young people. Amongst her accolades are Asian Women of Achievement 2019, Ambassador for Women of the Future Network and being recognised by The Evening Standard as one of London’s most influential people, as well as Retail Week’s Power List and Drapers Fashion Retail Power 100. Manju is a Chartered Accountant and has a BSc in Economics from Warwick university.

Julie Holdaway - Group HR & People Development Director

Julie Holdaway joined Harvey Nichols in January 2017 from SSP where she held the position of Group HR Director. SSP is a top 250 FTSE company and the leading provider of food and beverage services in multi-site travel locations worldwide. Julie’s career spanned 22 years at SSP, having joined in 1994 as Regional HR Manager when SSP was part of the Compass Group and held several Global and UK directorships. During her time at the Group she was instrumental in leading an award-winning people agenda across the company. Julie holds an MSc in Business Leadership along with a CIPD Diploma in Personnel Management, she is also an FCIPD member.

Alison Nieuwoudt - Director of Finance

Alison Nieuwoudt joined Harvey Nichols in September 2012 as Finance Manager. She was promoted to Financial Controller in 2015 and then to Director of Finance in 2018. Alison started her career at KPMG where she spent 5 years and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. In 2005 Alison joined Gensec Property Services as Financial Controller before moving into the retail industry with a Financial Controller role at the footwear retailer Spitz (owned by AVI listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange). Alison then joined Burberry where she spent 3 years in the European Division as an Analyst with a particular focus on forecasting, before moving to Harvey Nichols.

Laura Larbalestier - Group Fashion Buying Director

Laura Larbalestier joined Harvey Nichols in August 2018 as Group Fashion Director for Men’s, Women’s and Accessories. Laura began her career at Selfridges where she was responsible for developing the Women’s Designer RTW business. She then transitioned to Browns Fashion in 2011 before moving to Boutique 1 in June 2017 as Buying Director.

Gail Shuman - Group Ecommerce Director

Gail Shuman started her career in production at BBC Scotland before moving to London to specialise in digital marketing. In 2009 Gail moved to New York to advise a wealth of fashion and beauty brands on their digital strategies including DvF and TAG Heuer. On returning to London, Gail was the Head of Ecommerce for luxury fashion brands including Galvan, Victoria Beckham and Beauty Pie before joining Harvey Nichols in August 2018 as the Group Ecommerce Director.

Marcel Borlin – Group IT Director

Marcel joined Harvey Nichols in December 2019 from Carpetright, where he held the position of CTO for four years. He started his career in merchandising in South African fashion retail, spending six years at Woolworths (SA) and three years at Totalsports, running the footwear and clothing merchandising teams. Moving to the UK in 2000, he joined Tesco’s International Sourcing division for two years before moving to IT in 2002. Marcel worked in IT at Tesco for 13 years, starting as Project Manager and finishing as Group IT Director for Commercial systems, working across several business functions focussed on both growth and productivity. Marcel is a certified IT Architect.
